I love that tomorrow is a day off. I'm not even trying to compare to people I know who work longer/harder hours/jobs than I do; doing 8-12 hour days, 6 days in a row, at all different hours depending on the day, in a job that deals with interacting with a lot of people is the very definition of exhausting for me. It's like retail, really. But tomorrow is a day off. And Wil is coming to visit this weekend! It will be exhausting, too, but having company to do things with will be a nice change of pace and he's one of my bestest friends ever, so there is excitement.

How Alex Trebek looks so gently and sincerely disappointed in his contestants when no one gets the answer.

My husband hates him and calls him a tool constantly. I'm always like, what? How can you hate Trebek?!

I love my nephew! I got to babysit him last night for the first time. He cried a lot and had diaper rash, but it was still a fun time.
ETA: I forgot to post this yesterday. I love getting letters! Especially from Pwebbers.

I love that my orthopedist doesn't do pain pumps! I wont have to go through the long process of refusing one every chance I get and explaining my reasons multiple times like I did last time. Just to have the anesthesiologist tell me the day of my Sx that they are planning on using one. I said no, and fully explain why. My FiL had one after his first shoulder surgery and it malfunctioned causing him to need a second one. plus I just don't like the idea of dripping pain meds directly on my nerves for 3+ days She says "well ours don't malfunction and will keep the pain away, so we are using one" I said "NO!" its not like my FiL's surgeon put is a pain pump they knew was going to malfunction... they put in a "good pain pump that doesn't malfunction" and then LOTS of them malfunctioned! She fully explained what a pain pump is and how it functions and said "so we will be using it" trying to convince me with complicated science talk... but being a bio major I understand "science talk" and the load of crap she was saying. And find out that there is a chance of nerve damage (one more reason to say no since I already have some and don't need more) I said NO!, She tried to convince me by telling me I will be in sooooo much pain if I don't get one trying to scare me into submission. I said NO I've had shoulder surgery before without one and was fine NO! She says something about how its best and how its what they do.... mumble mumble PAIN PUMP! My husband steps in and says "She said NO PAIN PUMP, If she comes out of Surgery with a pain pump will will sue your pants off!!!!" She FINALY got the message This time I don't have to worry about any of this because my wonderfully awesome Orthopedic surgeon doesn't do pain pumps!

Where's your husband? He's at work! Heee!
My baby let me take part of a shower. Pretty good for our first day alone.

I love feeling comfortable with food. I love that I went to the asian supermarket today and picked up some random ingredients for a dish I was making up as I went, but it was okay because I could tell in my head how the tastes would interact. It doesn't always happen, and it doesn't always pan out, but I love it when it does.

I LOVE that I got to spend the weekend with one of my best friends and part of the day with my boy, who paid me a short visit. Nothing makes me happier than people I care about spending time with me in the city I love to my very core.

Don't even get me started on cheese, ladies. We would need a new thread: "cheeses I love".
Anyway, came here to tell a little story!
So I was sitting in work today, not doing anything, as usual, when I struck up a fancy to see what the prices on Samurai Champloo were running. Last time I had checked, you could buy it in single DVD sets that had two or three episodes on it, at about $20 each. This ended up costing you a lot of money to get the entire series. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Amazon had the entire DVD collection finally down to 7 DVDs in one case for $34.
But wait! What do I spy, but that Blu-Ray is only $26. I have a means of watching Blu-Ray movies through my computer, via a Blu-Ray drive and an HDMI cable, but that's really more hassle than, say, downloading a hi-def version and streaming it through the 360.
So I just cut out the middle man and bought a Blu-Ray player, which will arrive, in the mail, with my precious, precious Samurai. The moral? I love being an adult, sometimes.

Good days. :)
Got my walking in (almost 7 miles), saw Hunger Games (not too shabby), have 5 Cheese Ziti Al Forno prepared and about to be cooked/frozen for later meals, and I'm going to get some housework done before settling down to either a movie (Real Steel) or a book.

I don't think I can upgrade it to "great", since I'm still feeling silly for spending so much money on the cheeses. Honestly, $9 for 4 cups total? Outrageous.
(And this is how you can tell I'm not a foodie.)

I take it back. I got tonight's dinner, a meal for work for the next two days, plus 5 servings that ended up being frozen for lazy days down the road. It was super, flippin' tasty. $9 cheese, I declare you well worth it.
I also love my handy dandy new sink stopper that took entirely too long to get.
