I love that I had a phone interview on Thursday with a tech company. It may have just been a phone interview, but it was an interview. The first interview I've had since December 2010, and this one is in the field I've decided to try to break into. It would be a first tier phone support (in newly introduced two-tier system) for a locally operated company that does backup and data security, if I get it.

Google has a kick-ass prank this year, it's already up. Go to google maps and click Quest on the top right of the map.

I don't say this often, but right now I LOVE water. I feel like I can't drink enough, i'm just so thirsty!

I also love that we get to sleep in tomorrow, this 4am stuff sucks.

I'm often thirsty but never seem to drink plain water. Except if I exercise, then I like water right after.

But I LOVE water for swimming in!

I slept in until 8:30! I did have to get out of bed at 4am because my cat decided of all the places in the house to throw up, on me would be the most fun, but I easily went back to sleep after dealing with that!

my new favorite drug. I think/hope I gave finally stopped throwing up! I couldn't keep any liquids down after my Sx. I could eat solid foods in small amounts and soup was interesting because my body couldn't decide what to do but ended up sending the water I drank with it out and keeping th soup in somehow???

but I'm feeling much better now

I love getting out in the fields again! It was light enough to cultivate till 8 pm tonight. I do miss driving tractor,I always get my best thinking done out in the field. When I got around better I used to have a pretty efficient " tractor mobile" office in the tractor cab but life and business is more complicated than ever, even in my state of semi retirement.

Seriously. My roommate doesn't like it, and I'm pretty sure that makes her insane. Sure, it doesn't taste like actual Mexican food or anything like homemade tacos and the like, but that's not the point. It's T-Bell!

Speaking of awesome Taco Bell creations, I believe I am going to try one of their Doritos hard tacos today.

I don't know if I quite love them--I felt like the taco flavor overwhelmed the Doritos, so I didn't really get the full taste of both--but there is something awesome about licking that delicious cheese flavor off your fingers afterwards that makes the taco that much better.

I went by a Taco Bell last week or the week before, whatever week followed the release of Hunger Games, and I was very sorely tempted to try one of those. But then I started feeling strange amounts of guilt about eating Taco Bell here. I ate it fine in AZ, though not often, and I have nothing at all against Taco Bell. Shannon was spot on about it being fun/good for what it is. Delicious, delicious Tex-Mex. But here, I want to try so many restaurants I haven't been to yet, I felt like it'd be a waste somehow to go somewhere I've already been countless times.

Still, I'm curious.

I'm that way when I'm traveling. I avoid the chains in favor of local restaurants. I rarely eat at Taco Bell though, anyway. I prefer Taco John's for my fast food taco fix.

That's why I love yelp. I would always rather try a good, local restaurant when traveling. My husband and my family (brothers) are the opposite. They are much more comfortable sticking with places they know.

Oh man, the best fast food burrito I ever had was at a Taco John's in Wyoming. I think it was a chicken potato burrito? It's been a while, it's hard to remember. I just remember thinking it was the best thing ever.

I actually normally also prefer Taco Johns, but they're both pretty good cheap Tex-Mex, so there's no hating whatsoever to anyone.

I've never heard of Taco Johns. I'll have to try it if I ever cross paths with one.

And Kim, I know Texas has a population of very authentic Mexicans cooking very authentic Mexican food but I still call what they do authentic Mexican and Americanized Mexican Tex-Mex. Unless there is a specific food or foods styled after Mexico cuisine that is special to Texas that is considered Tex-Mex...but that would seem contrary to how the rest of the SW tends to handle naming Mexican food styles.

Being from Texas, I find a difference between authentic Mexican, Tex-Mex and things like Taco Bell.

That's fair enough, Kim. :) I think I use the definition differently (basically, if it's not authentic, it's Tex-Mex, so there's a very wide range) but I definitely can see how there might be a way of cooking it there that deserves its own designation.

I only called it that because Alea did. :( I just think of it as Mexican fast-food.

That is cool with me.

Honestly, most restaurants that claim to be authentic aren't, anyway, so pretty much all Mexican food in the States is Tex-Mex by my definition. Basically, if it namely sells enchiladas or tacos or burritos and does not carry a significant amount of seafood, cow tongue, or stomach lining, it's not authentic.

What if they are fish tacos?

Still not quite as authentic as it could be but also not uncommon.
