Was it too self-serving to say "All the stuff that Sywak designed"???

Asa Butterfield tweeted:
"Swinging around on wires @HaileeSteinfeld Good times"

http://www.endernews.com/ has a new cast pic (what setpiece is that in the back? Is it the Enemy's Gate?) , and is reporting the casting of Pol Slattery.

There's a square "gate" in the background of the shot.
I still have no idea what the circular portal is, though...it's not something *I* designed!

Over on a talkback at AICN covering the Production Blog, Roberto Orci stopped by: Quote: Bob Orci: we have been in meaningful contact with Mr. Card. He is as smart as his book indicates. He has been a great resource for us in every way. Quote: Sequels are tricky. For one, we never like to cont on sequels until they hach. On the other hand, card has written so much awesome material in this universe that there is much to figure out. Hope we get the chance. Quote: When adapting something so beloved You gotta make sure you keep the soul of it intact while doing what is necessary to translate to live action. I know thats not much of an answer, but i can tell you that we are treating the book preciously.

Quote: QUESTION: What are your feelings on the Shadow books and the Speaker books? Do you feel it’s possible to adapt both to the screen, or do you think the latter series would be too difficult, disconnected and abstract for audiences? I’m not asking what Summit’s plans for the franchise are – I just think it would be interesting to know what you think.
ROBERTO ORCI: Certain elements may lend themselves well to adaptation.

Love them #EndersGame Asa Butterfield: "no other word would suffice to describe todays scene other than incredible. @ImNotMoises @HaileeSteinfeld"

That said, nothing came to mind involving those four.

Maybe a new scene that isn't in the book? I'm sure there will be those in the movie.

When I saw that, I thought about the scene leading up to the fight between Bonzo and Ender, where Dragon army is protecting Ender from the Salamanders/other Bonzo followers, and Petra tries to stop Ender in the hall. Maybe? I would call it pretty 'pivotal.' Although maybe not, because Bean would be in that scene too, and he didn't list Aramis.

I thought about that, too, but Bonzo wasn't in that scene, either.

Just read an article about interview with one of the producers. What struck out most was him saying the movie is a distilled version of the book, but keeps its essense. Tells me were going to lose alot more scenes then previously thought.

http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2012/04/05/en ... -kurtzman/Quote: We've gotten a few bits of insider info and anecdotes from the "Ender's Game" via its occasionally-updated production blog, but it's been awhile since we've heard anything from the lucky folks on set. As such, when MTV News spoke with producer Alex Kurtzman recently about the trailer debut of his upcoming film "People Like Us," we had to ask for an "Ender's" update straight from the source.
"I’m really proud of the work everybody’s done on 'Ender’s.' Particularly because it’s a very complicated sprawling book that a lot of people have tried for a very long time to figure out how to make," Kurtzman said.
"[Director] Gavin Hood, the minute that we read his script we realized that in a miraculous way he’d managed to distill down the essence of the book and the big moves to a very understandable clear format," the writer continued. "He had made changes that were I think totally protective of the novel, he hasn’t changed any of the plot, it’s just about not being able to put all of it in one movie. He really distills it down to its essence in a beautiful way and that was an amazing thing to see. It’s an amazing thing to see the movie come to life because it’s such a special and different movie."
Speaking of the very talented cast, Kurtzman had nothing but high praise for everyone involved.
"Asa [Butterfield] is unbelievable in it. Hailee [Steinfeld] and Abigail [Breslin] are incredible. Harrison [Ford] and Viola [Davis] are just, they’re weirdly exactly what you imagined when you read the book, or at least I did," he admitted. "It’s really going to be a special movie. We’re about halfway through it, maybe close to halfway but it’s been a wonderful shoot so far."
"We’re just happy to support the vision of the book," he added. "It’s such a treasured novel and it’s very rare that you get an opportunity to work on something like that so we were very psyched."

I love today's blog post so much! This room looks so much like mine, with a bunch of posters and gadgets and books all strewn around . And, is that the design for the desks I see towards the back, on the right hand side?
