Nostalgic threads

Postby v-girl » Mon Nov 27, 2006 10:23 pm

What are some threads that make you think... "this is the essence of Pweb," or that stick out in your mind as favorite pweb moments? Noodle picking up the pencils reminded me of this.

Some of my favorite threads:

*waves*--JL's thread, back when LG was active.

The Odd Couple--my thread with Nick. mostly needless flirting, but what can i say, i was young.

Dear Bob 1.0 and 2.0--i unloaded a lot of crap in these threads

the Girl's thread--Noodle and the pencils, adiamondisforever.com or whatever. trying to scare the boys out with period talk, but it didn't work.

"..."--chibi's thread. was that what it was called? i forget, but that was fun.

"world dominaton". My first thread on pweb, CoM and i had epic battles there.
The Makeout Hobo is real, and does indeed travel around the country in his van and make out with ladies... If you meet him, it is customary to greet him with a shot of whiskey and a high five (if you are a dude) or passionate makeouts (if you are a lady).

Jeez. The Girls' Thread. That was high school for me.

you snooze, you lose
well I have snozzed and lost
I'm pushing through
I'll disregard the cost
I hear the bells
so fascinating and
I'll slug it out
I'm sick of waiting
and I can
hear the bells are
ringing joyful and triumphant

Not really threads, but on this topic...
I miss "fighting" with LG over top poster back when pweb crashed the FIRST time.
I miss when John really was my advisor on everything in my life, and life was really that simple.
I miss chain emails back and forth between Kimmie and I.
Late night phone calls between Noah, Kimmie, Hunter, and I.
Back when calling someone on a forum was new and exciting, and I wanted to talk to as many people as I could.
I miss "yeeeeaaahhhh..."
I miss Janelle and Alea and I being as close as we were.
I miss the Sexy Club.
I miss Cameron.

Pweb's had a huge impact on my life...

I miss those e-mails, too, Nicole.

I also miss Hunter more than I can put into words.
I miss the "moral compass" I had of pwebbers and real life friends.
I miss being one of the top posters, because when I was I so involved in this community.
I miss Noah playing his mandolin while we were on the phone.
I miss really ridiculous late night conversations with Hunter. (We were going to take over the south of France, kick out all the french, live in a castle and have 9 white tigers that roamed the land and were named after the fellowship.)

I miss Hunter, too.

I miss everyone being confused about my gender. Too many people know the truth, now.

i miss LG and Hunter and ooooooooooooooold calvinball.

i also miss ethan, although he hasn't been around in AGES.

and i miss Ender's Epic, and racing home every day after class to type up the bit i had written during class instead of paying attention.

i still miss Kenn, even though he's psuedo-back.

i miss all the old Bob and DY entries.

i miss lots. i've already gotten some good things out of this board though.

I miss the Epic as well. I loved helping write that.

I miss Zev something insane.

I miss the pweb christmas giving list. Where we'd all pick out holiday gifts that suited our fellow members and "give" them.

i miss nomi being on aim

i miss the philly boys (except eddie, i know he's posting)

Not a thread... but I miss when EL's avatar actually indicated the location on the sign. And I miss being Sandwich Boy. And back when Volfield was his name... *sigh*

As for actual threads, the original Calvinball was just gold. I miss the original "Periodic Movie Update" for some reason, and the "Kill Evil Banned"-ish threads.

That's the same pic I've had since '02, zero. It's been passed from computer to computer, and on the various hosting sites. I've never altered it, or even resized it.

It says something about Babylon, I've been told.

Sorry, I meant the filename changed. And argh! now you've ruined it! I thought that was pseudo-secretive.

Edit: And you did change it, for a short while. But people complained, as I recall.

Sorry, Janelle. I'm old and don't like change. ;) But at least I know who you are. There are still members who I think just changed their names, but I really have no idea.

Oh, yeah, that. I do change to a different pic from time to time, but I meant that this file is exactly the same as it was in '02. Whatever. I just like the screams of agony when I change it for a while.

I miss Ali's Harry Potter thread. That just made me happy.

And I miss my "what the heck am I going to do with my life... why don't you vote on it" thread.

I think what I miss most are very specific DYs and Bob posts made by me and a few other people about me. There are others, on the other hand, that I'm quite glad were erased.

Yeah, it's hard to believe we once thought you were a girl, Linus.

I miss the *bump* thread. There really hasn't been a need for it yet on the new board.
