Givin' up being attractive an' growin' me an IMPERIAL!
World Beard and Mustache Championships 2007
The "Partial Beard: Imperial" is my favourite, followed by the "Full Beard: Verdi." Bonus weirdness points to the "Sideburns Freestyle" participants.

The Imperial is awesome. I like the Partial Beard - Chinese, myself. And some of the moustaches.
Oh, God, I just got to the freestyle sideburns.
*shakes with laughter*

I don't do a mating dance, darlingest. I just post about people who deliberately make themselves look funny.
P.S. Make sure you check out Gunther Krauss - 3rd place, Mustache Freestyle. You can't really see his contribution in the thumbnail.

This reminded me of an entire section called "Beard Manual" which features such beards as the "Starchops, The Contintenal Merlin, Hashburns, The Van Catfish, The Startled Satan and the Flaxen Neck." In the fantastically funny book "The Areas of My Expertise" by John Hodgman.
It also included a related chapter devoted to "History's Worst Men's Haircuts"
If you haven't read that book I highly recommend that you stop reading this post and go get it.

Bumping an old thread to mention that I'm currently participating in http://momonth.com's celebration of International Moustache Month. I shaved all facial hair on Feb 1 and haven't shaved since. I'll proceed to shave all but the 'stache on the 29th. I'll post pictures then, if I remember.
I'm the hairiest I've ever been, and I think I like it....

At first she was mortified. I didn't tell her I was doing it until after I shaved my Van Dyke. She wasn't happy.... But I wanted it to be a surprise! (February is a short month after all!)
Now that I have a full beard she says she likes the beard, but wants me to go back to normal again. I'm interested in what she'll think of just a mustache. (Another first for me)
I'm trying to decide if I should keep just the 'stache until Cinco de Mustache. Doing this would allow me to celebrate Mustache March

Wow, this makes me miss my beard. I had a full beard for a few months- made me look like chuck norris. Sadly, my job in a warehouse ended, and I had to shave it off. My girlfriend was glad to see it go, but gosh I miss it. Somewhere there's a picture of me with it shaved into a General (where you have a mustache and two lines of hair going down the sides. It's very white trash, i thought it was hilarious.

So... A short story that seems appropriate to this thread: I'm on a week long trip, and I consciously decided not to bring a razor. Part of it was because I want to see just how thick my facial hair grows in, but the other part is that I wanna intimidate guys on the lacrosse field.
Anyway... the point of the story is that it itches like all hell. f*** me it's annoying!

I'm bumping this in the interests of Movember. I couldn't talk Rei into participating, and to be honest I'm not sure his dad could ( ). Are any of our pweb guys participating? How's it coming? Will you do something amusing with it at the end of the month before shaving, and post pictures, prettyplease?

He's actually pretty good-looking with a beard or beard/moustache combo. But then, I'm biased, I guess. We wouldn't want you to lose your feminine charm."Couldn't talk" me into it? I did briefly mention it but your tone made it sound like it would be useless to try any further. So I didn't. Although you shoulda grown one just to bug your dad.

The guy in this video? The one with the beard? The green beard?
Yeah, that's one of my best friends from growing up. I'm not sure whether to be ashamed or proud. I mean, who grows something like that JUST to sport on the most important day of their academic career? I think that takes some balls.
