Spotlight On- Session Ten - Shannon - September 12/19, 2011
If you have problems with the link, an alternative.
Interesting Factoids:
Session Ten Call Time: ~39 minutes
Final Cut: ~21 minutes
I have never felt so bad that someone had to talk to me for this as I did when I talked to Shannon. Apologies abound.
The intro was done two-ish weeks ago, so I'm not ignoring major Pweb events for that.
Shannon sounds like Nomi to me sometimes. There was confusion.

No apologies needed. I enjoyed our conversation very much.I have never felt so bad that someone had to talk to me for this as I did when I talked to Shannon. Apologies abound.
That being said, I'm too scared to listen to it.

I think I lied! I just Waybacked and realized my join date was Jan 2005, not 2004. I'm not as old as I thought!

Spotlight On - Session Eleven - Noodle - September 19/26, 2011
If you have problems with the link, an alternative.
Interesting Factoids:
Session Eleven Call Time: ~1 hr 49 minutes
Final Cut: ~51 minutes
Two - You'll get this, just listen.
Wil threatened to kill me about 7 times over this one being as long as it was.
Noodle apologized about four thousand times over this one being as long as it was.
This was recorded the day Little Naomi was born.

Long is fine! Just keep them long, no editing.
I've been meaning to say this for awhile: I've only ever gotten the alternate link to work. Anyone else?

I can listen to the regular link (sound cloud, I think?) at home. But I mostly listen to these at work, and then only the alternative link works.

I'm in the middle of listening to Noodle's interview but I had to share this:
I haven't worn it much because it never fit well but I've kept it for nostalgic reasons.

That's awesome. I designed the lime on that shirt but if memory serves me the rest of that shirt was designed by Taalcon. I could be way off on that, but I know it wasn't one of the ones I designed. It's pretty awesome that you still have it!

Not gonna lie, it's somewhat surreal listening to these and finding myself being referenced as somewhat of a mythic figure from Days of Yore. It really is mindblowing that this site has been going for over a decade. That's pretty cool.

I am just now listening to Noodle's interview. I believe that the pencil picking up starting in the Diamond thread. That thread was (I believe) started by Chibi and was originally about designing engagement rings on a popular jeweler website.
I do have kind of a bad memory for this kind of thing though.

Re: The "Spotlight On" Series
Listening to this for the first time and here's the special edition commentary for your enjoyment:
Footnote #1: LimeGiver/Volfield and I worked for a marketing company that was also home of the Kool-Aid Wacky Warehouse. There were some subtle references to the wacky warehouse in calvinball.
Footnote #2: I never answered Alea's question about the "Stealing your baby since 1806" tag line. That was a suggestion for a tagline given to me by NG. He and I got along rather well, even though he was in a different alliance and we were mortal enemies in Calvinball.
Footnote #3: Ummm. I say Ummm a lot. Ummm... Ummm... sorry about that. Ummm...
Footnote #4: I've since gone back and read more threads.
Footnote #5: I forgot to mention THIS thread as one of my favorites.
Footnote #6: LG didn't really have a whip.
Footnote #7: Holy Crap, I really do say Ummm a lot. I don't think I say Ummm so much in normal conversation. Alea was making me think about things that I hadn't really thought of in a long time.
Footnote #8: Every other word out of my mouth was not beer. It was Ummmm.
Footnote #9: If you're interested, you can see my pictures on Flickr
Footnote #10: I still haven't posted the Alaska pictures. I'll get on that
Footnote #11: The Mediterranean cruise has since been called off. Too expensive. We'll do it sometime, just not next year.
Footnote #12: I'm not a raging alcoholic. (waits for Alea to say "yet")
Footnote #13: I am really looking forward to giving Alea her noogie. REALLY.
Footnote #14: Turns out we did have enough material
Footnote #15: Thank you again Wil.
Footnote #16: Thank you again PWeb for listening to some jerk ramble on for almost an hour.
Footnote #17: I just looked out my window and I saw some eyes looking in. I think Alea really IS stalking me.

I've fallen behind. I just listened to the Shannon interview and was much too amused by the out takes at the end when Alea starts hitting on her.

Always this.Thank you again Wil.
Shuttup, you were fun.Thank you again PWeb for listening to some jerk ramble on for almost an hour.
I swear, it only took me so long to respond because I was, er, not stalking you and definitely just, um, breathing? Yeah, definitely just hanging out and breathing...I just looked out my window and I saw some eyes looking in. I think Alea really IS stalking me.
Well, I've cycled through all the men...what'd you think? I was just going to go hitting on normal people when I still had the ladies to work my way through? Psh.I just listened to the Shannon interview and was much too amused by the out takes at the end when Alea starts hitting on her.
He is more than welcome to do one and record it at any old time. However, I air them as close to first come, first served as possible, so that would have to wait its turn.I nominate Dave to be next.

Only if it's thought there would be an interest. It's been so long that there's probably about 5 or 6 people around here who even remember when I actively posted. And I think most of them have already been interviewed! He is more than welcome to do one and record it at any old time. However, I air them as close to first come, first served as possible, so that would have to wait its turn.I nominate Dave to be next.
Either way, I'd be happy to take my place in the queue.
Heh. There's probably a whole generation of Pwebbers who have never even seen or heard of the once-infamous EnderCon Oddyssey "thing".
Not that this is in any way, shape, or form a bad thing.

I need to find time to listen to noodle's interview. For some reason 50 minutes seems like a lot more time than 30.
